Ferk is the Chief Executive Officer at Etihad Rail Freight, a subsidiary of Etihad Rail that is responsible for transporting a wide range of goods across the UAE as well as ensuring smooth and efficient operations of Etihad Rail’s rolling stock and terminals. A seasoned executive with vast sector experience, Gunther brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership in the international logistics and supply chain industry.

As CEO of Etihad Rail Freight, Gunther leads the development and execution of commercial strategies, fostering stakeholder engagement to drive long-term revenue growth. He plays a crucial role in achieving Etihad Rail’s mission to transform the transportation and logistics industry, directly supporting the country's diversification strategy. Under Gunther's guidance, the expansion of Etihad Rail’s freight services will enhance the nation's economic prospects by strengthening trade and tourism.

Over the past 3 decades, his leadership and expertise have been instrumental in the success of several global organizations, including CEO positions in prestigious companies in Europe such as VTG Rail Logistics, Xrail and Railog Group and other senior management positions in leading companies in the US and Canada.

With a rich professional history spanning several decades and a dedication to advancing the logistics and supply chain industry, Gunther continues to make significant contributions to the success of the companies he leads, positioning them for sustainable growth and prosperity in the global market.

Gunther holds a Masters in International Marketing and Controlling from the University of Applied Sciences for International Economic Relations in Austria. He is also a certified REFA-Engineer demonstrating his commitment to process efficiency and optimization, as well as his strategic thinking and analytical skills needed to excel in the dynamic world of logistics.
