Nasir Al Shamsi

Chief Transport Officer

BEEAH

Nasir Al Shamsi is the Chief Transport Officer at BEEAH, where he leads the deployment
of low-emission fleet solutions, both internally and for partners, and oversees the
development of Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) soware. With nearly two decades of
experience in government and semi-government sectors, Nasir is an expert in identifying
and commissioning solutions to solve modern mobility challenges and provide
specialised vehicular solutions for industry applications while ensuring reliability and
alignment with environmental best practices.

Nasir is also responsible in developing BEEAH’s partnerships to accelerate sustainable
mobility. He oversees ION, the region’s first commercial green transport company,
formed as a joint venture between BEEAH and Crescent Enterprises.

Joining BEEAH in 2012, Nasir has served in various capacities, beginning with the fleet
management division for BEEAH waste collection and city cleaning operations. He
contributed extensively to BEEAH’s fleet utilisation programmes, maximising fuel
efficiency while helping minimise emissions across 800 vehicles. He introduced
innovative new systems such as a Dispatch-on-Demand solution, an emissions
monitoring system, and an auto generated fleet registration system, in addition to
improving fleet management policies.

As Chief Transport Officer, Nasir now works with internal and external stakeholders to
form high-level partnerships and help shape emissions-free mobility networks in the
UAE. He is currently leading BEEAH’s collaboration with the Sharjah Road Transport
Authority (SRTA) to deploy hundreds of electric vehicle (EV) chargers across the Emirate
in line with the UAE National Electric Vehicles Policy. This builds on his previous successes,
including autonomous mobility projects in Masdar City, Sharjah University City and
along the corniche in Ajman.

Prior to his career at BEEAH, Nasir held positions in the Sharjah Municipality, Emirates
Integrated Telecommunication Company (du) and Sharjah Traffic Police.
Nasir holds a master’s degree in Business Administration and he is also a graduate of the
prestigious Sharjah Leadership Programme. In addition to his degrees he has successfully
completed several digital transformation programmes from UC Berkeley.
