Pierre Verzat

Pierre Verzat is Chief Executive Officer of SYSTRA. Under his leadership since 2011, the company has
grown its sales from €260m to €1,1Bn in 2023. Renowned for its unique excellence in mass transit and
rail consultancy and engineering, and more broadly in the transportation domain, SYSTRA Group is
headquartered in Paris and operates in 80 countries, employing 11 000 people. It is ranked among the
Top 8 international engineering companies for transportation, among the Top 3 for Mass Transit & Rail
engineering, and Top 4 for Bridges engineering.
Pierre started his career in 1986 as a naval engineer with the French Navy, specialising in nuclear
propulsion. In 1992 he became CEO of BEA (DALKIA Group) before joining AREVA Group as CEO of ELTA
and SVP Industry, Transport & Environment of Technicatome. He joined EADS Group in 2005 as SVP
Engineering & Industry of Astrium Space Transportation, rising to Chief Operating Officer of Astrium
Services.
Pierre is a chartered engineer of Ecole Polytechnique (Paris) and naval engineer of ENSTA (Paris). In
the past he was also President of SYNTEC-INGENIERIE (2018-2023) the French federation of
engineering firms.
He received the 2016 Sterling European CEO Award from the UK’s Association for Consultancy and
Engineering (ACE). He is a member of the French Republic’s Order of the Légion d’Honneur.
